Group of students

Skillsline worked with ESII awardees in both urban and rural settings for two purposes:

1
Cultivate economic vibrance across the community with the school at the center, and
2
Develop a scalable solution to provide Indiana students, schools, employees, and employers with a solid foundation of human skills aligned with Indiana Employability Skills Standards.
Batesville High School integrated Skillsline into its work-based learning program, emphasizing purpose and goal-setting, intentional skills learning in the context of a work environment, and reflection and relationship building.

Students were empowered to:

1
Self-select a sampling of Indiana Employability Skills
2
Learn the fundamentals through aligned Skillsline modules.
3
Complete reflection exercises on using those skills in various workplace settings

We're trying to bring relevancy back to the high school experience and teach some of the skills so that kids can tie their experience to industry terminology… [Skillsline] is the most efficient and relevant approach available to teaching students [durable human] skills.
